Well, I’ve started taking an interest into how cars work, and I’d like to learn how to fix them because my Dad and I want to buy a Volkswagen bug and start fixing it up.
Not to mention, being a 15-year old girl and liking dirt-biking and trucks and cars doesn’t help. I don’t like having too many friends, either. Needless to say, this would be a hobby.
My question is, are there any of the more reputable shops out there (like Pep Boys or Autozone; I can’t think of any others) that would allow me to learn a thing or two, kind of like an "intern"? (Sorry, I feel silly using the word "intern" when talking about mechanics)

If it helps any information-wise, I would work for no pay (as long as I don’t have to stay for, like, 8 hours at a time). I really would just like to learn, and once I’m old enough, I would work for the shop.
If any of you answerers are managers at a shop or work in one and have any good advice, this would be the place to leave it!
P.S. I live in Southern California (Orange County), so if you know any good shops around here, name ‘em!
